Carpmetal S.r.l. was founded in 1968, originally under the name “Calabria Ovidio s.n.c.”. The company began its operations as a steel fabrication workshop, specializing in the production of gates, railings, garage units, and various types of steel structures, including their on-site erection and installation.
In 1974, the company entered the lifting sector, initially carrying out the erection of overhead cranes on behalf of third parties and subsequently focusing on the construction of crane runways only.
On January 29, 1975, the first registered unit under “Calabria Ovidio S.n.c.” was inaugurated: the very first overhead crane.
The company expanded its horizons with the establishment of “Carpmetal di Calabria Ovidio e C. S.n.c.”, a firm fully dedicated to the design, manufacture, and installation of overhead cranes.
From its original headquarters in San Pancrazio, Palazzolo sull’Oglio (Brescia), the company relocated to its new industrial facility in Adro, on a larger site nearby.
The production department was further expanded with the acquisition of OTI, a Lecco-based company specialized in the manufacture of overhead cranes. Strengthened by this strategic investment, the company evolved through a corporate transformation and officially became “Carpmetal S.r.l.”
The associated company “Calabria S.r.l.” was established, specializing in mechanical processing and metal fabrication carried out with machine tools, lathes, and machining centers.
In July 2015, 4C Metal Service s.a.s. of Calabria Gianmario & C. was established, with the objective of providing overhead crane service and maintenance, as well as plasma cutting, laser cutting, and steel fabrication.
Since then, our company has been manufacturing overhead cranes of various types and sizes: double-girder overhead cranes, single-girder overhead cranes, gantry cranes, semi-gantry cranes, jib cranes, bicycle-type cranes, and special-purpose cranes.
On September 22, 2016, we celebrated the production of unit no. “4000”, an important milestone that continues to drive our daily commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in our products.
